Primo incontro in videoconferenza per l'IISS G.Greggiati di Mantova nell'ambito del progetto "Viaggio per la memoria" promosso dall'ITET "Marco Polo" di Palermo in collaborazione con il Centro Studi Pio La Torre, l'IISS Giuseppe Greggiati di Mantova e l'ITI Michael Faraday di Ostia.

La conferenza è stata tenuta dal presidente del Centro Studi Pio La Torre Vito Lo Monaco che ha illustrato agli studenti partecipanti la storia dell'antimafia sociale, soffermandosi in particolare sulla figura di Pio La Torre e del suo contributo alla lotta alla mafia con la proposta di legge di confisca dei beni dei mafiosi che sarà approvata dal Parlamento solo dopo la sua uccisione.

Lo Monaco ha inoltre illustrato l'operato del giudici Cesare Terranova, componente insieme a La Torre della Commissione Antimafia e relatore insieme a lui della relazione di minoranza del 1976 che per prima mise in luce lo stretto nesso tra parte della politica e la mafia. Toccati anche i temi del rapporto tra la mafia e la Chiesa e il ruolo che la criminalità organizzata svolge nel traffico dei migranti.

Videoconference with IISS G. Greggiati di Mantova

First meeting by videoconference for IISS G.Greggiati di Mantova as part of the project "Travel for Memory" promoted by ITET "Marco Polo" of Palermo in collaboration with the Centro Studi Pio La Torre, the IISS Giuseppe Greggiati of Mantua and the ITI Michael Faraday of Ostia.

The conference was held by the president of the Centro Studi Pio La Torre Vito Lo Monaco who presented to the participating students the history of social antimafia, focusing in particular on the figure of Pio La Torre and his contribution to the fight against the Mafia with the bill confiscating the assets of the mafia that will be approved by the Parliament only after its murder.
The Monk also explained the work of Judge Cesare Terranova, together with La Torre of the Anti-Mafia Commission and rapporteur with him of the 1976 minority report which first highlighted the close link between the political part and the Mafia. Also touched on the issues of the relationship between the Mafia and the Church and the role that organized crime plays in the trafficking of migrants.
